The most current UBC Reports has a story about a new course in ecohealth which will utilize the Farm. Available at UBC in 2008, this course is a pertinent reminder that the Farm isn’t just a resource for students in the Land and Food Systems Faculty; it’s for everyone! We’re happy to collaborate with 25 Faculties, Schools, and Colleges at UBC – and more are added each year.
Margot Parkes is quoted in the article with a wonderful comment about the importance of the Farm: “The farm is a microcosm at the rural and urban interface. It is a great example of the interconnection between food, transportation and housing as important determinants of health in Vancouver.”
Unfortunately, the article doesn’t mention anything about finding more information about the course, and my attempts to locate it on the course calendar were in vain. Looks like you’ll have to do some sleuthing if you’re interested.
