The day of the Great Farm Trek ’09 is upon us, and it couldn’t be a more beautiful occassion. We hope to see ALL of you Farm supporters out there in the sunshine today.

Remember, the crowd meets at 3:30pm at UBC’s Student Union Building (map). There we’ll hear from some awesome speakers who support the Farm cause, including including greenpeace co-founder Rex Weyler and 100-Mile Diet co-author James MacKinnon. After the speakers, we trek! First, to the Board of Governors meeting to show them how many people care about the Farm, then onto the main attraction, the UBC Farm itself. Bands and performers will walk with us in our mobile street party as we celebrate food and community. Festivities at the Farm will continue until around 8pm and free, public shuttles will be available to transport people between the SUB and the Farm throughout the afternoon.

All the other details can be found on the the Great Farm Trek page of this website. If you have any last minute questions, staff will be in the Farm Centre to help answer them. (604-822-5092)

From all of us who have been working to put this together, thank you so much for your involvement. Today is going to be great!
